Places to Visit Near Dharamshala

Dharamshala is a hill station located in the Himachal Pradesh, India and is a very popular tourist spot. But it is not only attraction for the tourist but for the pilgrims too as this place is also very religious. Every year lot of tourist and devotee visit Dharamshala with their own destination on mind. Dharamshala has lot of places to visit and some of them are given below:

1. Tsuglag Khang complex: Tsuglag Khang complex is the residence of his holiness Dalai Lama. This complex was made in the year 1959 when his holiness Dalai Lama arrives in India. In the compound of the complex consist of famous Namgyal monastery, a museum where the life history and various cultures of Tibetans can be found, a library, a book store, a coffee shop and a privet residence for Dalai Lama. This Tsuglag Khang complex is one of the major attractions of Dharamshala.

2. Aghanjar Mahadev Temple: Aghanjar Mahadev Temple, Dharamshala is a very beautiful temple located in the village of Khaniyara. This place not only attracts pilgrims but tourist too as the temple is surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests. It is believe that the lord Shiva appear in this Aghanjar Mahadev Temple before Arjuna which is one of the Pandava brothers of Mahabharata and blessed him to have victory in the war against Kauravas. Behind the temple there is a small but very beautiful waterfall and the water from it flows around the temple continuously.

3. Dal Lake: Dal Lake is a very beautiful lake of Dharamshala and it is situated in the 1,775 meter above the sea level. Surrounded by the beautiful mountain range and the forest of decor tree, Dal Lake is very quiet and calm with its greenish colour. In the bank of the lake there is a temple of lord Shiva can be found. To reach the lake from the main market of Kangra district you can take an auto or just walk as the distance is only 2 km. Dal Lake is very popular among the tourist for its activity such as water sports, picnic, trekking etc.

4. Bhagsu Nag Falls: The Bhagsu Nag fall which is also known simply as Bhagsu fall is a very beautiful waterfall and 30 feet tall. The beauty of the waterfall more increase in the monsoon season. This waterfall is situated in the village of Bhagsu Nag which is 2 km away from the McLeod Ganj and the best way to reach the waterfall from McLeod Ganj is walking. There is also a temple of lord Shiva at a distance of 1 km from the Bhagsu Nag waterfall.
